The Vietnam Association of Gynecology and Obstetrics (VAGO) is a national professional organization bringing together leading professors, physicians, researchers, and experts in obstetrics and gynecology across Vietnam. VAGO is committed to advancing women’s healthcare, promoting scientific research, and fostering high-quality clinical practice in obstetrics and gynecology.
Mission & Core Activities
• Professional Development & Training:
VAGO organizes national congresses, scientific conferences, and continuing medical education (CME) programs to update clinicians on the latest advances in obstetrics, gynecology, reproductive medicine, ultrasound, and maternal–fetal health.
• Scientific Research Promotion:
The Association supports clinical and academic research, encourages publication, and facilitates collaboration among institutions to enhance scientific capacity nationwide.
• Clinical Guidelines & Standardization:
VAGO participates in developing national guidelines and best-practice recommendations to ensure safe, standardized, and evidence-based care for mothers and newborns.
• International Collaboration:
The Association maintains partnerships with international societies, supporting knowledge exchange, joint research, and global integration of Vietnam’s OB-GYN sector.

VAGO is governed by a strong and representative leadership structure consisting of 35 official Executive Committee members from major hospitals and medical universities.

Prof. Nguyen Viet Tien, MD, PhD
Former Vice Minister of Health; former Director of the National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Vice Presidents:
09 Vice Presidents, all senior professors and experts covering key areas such as obstetrics, gynecology, reproductive medicine, gynecologic oncology, and regional coordination nationwide.
• Secretary-General:
Assoc. Prof. Luu Thi Hong, MD, PhD
Responsible for coordinating all operational activities, academic programs, and communication of the Association.
